What type of fabric do you sell?

All the fabrics we sell are 100% cotton and are suitable for quilting, patchwork, general sewing projects and some interiors projects.  These fabrics are not upholstery weight, so would not be suitable for re-covering furniture and any projects that would have lots of wear and tear.

We sell flannel/brushed cotton too, a lovely soft fabric.  It does not have a thick pile but it does have a fleece-like softness to the touch.  It just feels slightly different to the other fabrics we sell, it frays a little more but apart from that, it really easy to work with.

What is a fat quarter?

A fat quarter is a measurement of fabric, commonly used in quilting, but universally accepted as a way in which to measure fabric.  Have a look at our ‘Fabric Measurement Guide’ on the front page for more information on the sizes we sell and how they are cut.

Can I purchase in other sizes?

You can purchase in fat quarters, half metres and metres.  Any multiple orders of the same fabrics will be sent as a continuous piece, eg a metre and a half metre ordered will be sent as a 150cm piece.

What is a fat quarter bundle?

A fat quarter bundle contains one fat quarter of every fabric shown in the photograph, unless otherwise stated.  These bundles have been hand picked by Emma and contain fabrics that blend well together.  Some are from the same ranges, others are tonal bundles that contain fabrics from various ranges.

A fabric bundle takes the stress out of choosing colours that blend.  You will also find that it is cheaper to purchase a bundle than purchasing all the fabrics separately.

Can I add or remove fabrics in the bundles?

The bundles are sold as seen in the item description only.

I am unsure about the solid colour fabrics, can you help me choose co-ordinating colours?

Yes of course!  This is probably THE most frequently asked question!  It can be very frustrating to select solid colours from manufacturer/website photographs.  We often help our customers choose co-ordinating colours, it is usually easier for us to do this in person with the fabrics.

Do you offer swatches of your fabrics?

We are able to offer swatches for Kona solid colours only.  If you would like swatches please email us advising which colours you’d like a sample of.  We are unable to provide swatches of other fabrics at the moment.

I am looking for a range of fabrics you don’t stock, help!

If there is a specific range/designer whose fabrics you’d like Emma’s Fabric Studio to stock then get in touch with the details!  Developing the range of fabrics we stock is an ongoing process and feedback from customers is vital.

Do you offer discounts for large orders?

Yes we do!  Please use discount code ‘250EFS‘ to give you 10% off orders over £250.  We also have a 5% discount code for orders over £150 ‘150EFS‘.  These codes are not limited in their usage, you can use them over and over again!  You’ll need to use these codes at the checkout as they cannot be retrospectively added to your order post-purchase.

I don’t have Paypal, can I still make a purchase?

Yes! The checkout will take you to the Paypal payment screen but you can also pay by credit/debit card through this link. If you pay via Paypal and there is not enough money in your account, Paypal will take funds from your nominated bank account. This results in payment being made by ‘echeque’ which takes approximately one week to clear. Your order will not be sent until the echeque clears.

Payment from funds in Paypal and debit/credit cards are immediate.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

We use the second class recorded service with Royal Mail or a courier if it’s a larger order.

We despatch your fabric as quickly as possible, in fact we are proud to be regularly complimented on our quick and efficient service. When you order you will receive an automated confirmation email. When your item has been despatched, you will receive another email, containing a reminder of the item(s) you ordered.  Sometimes these emails go into your ‘junk mail’ folder so please check there before querying your order.

If you haven’t received your order and are concerned, please contact us so we can check on the delivery status. We can also provide you with the Royal Mail tracking number if you’d like to view this information.  Feel free to give us a call or send an email instead. We’re very friendly and will do our utmost to help!

Can you add reward points after I have purchased?

Points cannot be added retrospectively, so please make sure you are logged in to your account to ensure points are collated on your purchase.

I am a soft toy manufacturer, can you assist with the CE marking process?

There is a wealth of information on the internet regarding the rules and regulations relating to CE marking and this can be confusing.  We have tried to assist by writing two blog posts to help soft toy manufacturers on their pathway to achieving their CE mark, specifically EN71 and the composition of the fabrics.
